Obligatory soon! The 'white' green card
From 1 July 2020, the international motor insurance card may no longer be printed on green paper. All new insurance cards must then be printed on white paper.
What happens to your current insurance card?
Insurance cards printed on green paper before 1 July 2020 will remain valid until they reach their expiry date. Will your 'green card' expire? You will automatically receive a new copy printed on white paper.
No more green cards from 2022
From 1 January 2022, no insurance card on green paper may be in circulation. The attentive reader will also notice that the 'white' green card looks slightly different from its predecessor in terms of content. For example, the addresses of the National Agencies that used to be mentioned on the back of the insurance card will move to the front. There, in box 8, you will find the following text:
This card is valid in the countries that have not been crossed out (for more information see www.cobx.org/). Use of the motor vehicle mentioned in this card is guaranteed in each country visited in accordance with the compulsory liability insurance regulations in force in that country.
