Motorway tolls
As you know, as of April 1st, all Belgian and foreign heavy goods vehicles have to pay mileage charges. They are paying to use the main motorways in our country.
The so-called Viapass mileage toll replaces the Eurovignette scheme.
Unless you were staying on Mars over the last few weeks, you know that owners of heavy goods vehicles now have to pay toll charges. In particular, it affects heavy goods lorries, with a maximum permissible total weight of more than 3.5 tons. In practice, one pays for the use of motorways and some regional and local roads in Flanders, Brussels and the Walloon region. The toll is calculated by means of an on-board unit. This On Board Unit (OBU) registers the distance you have covered.
